Hi, welcome to my About Me page
I was raised in South Africa, but now live on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland, Australia. I studied philosophy (post-graduate, University of Witwatersrand) and film making (French National film school in Paris (IDHEC). I spent many years writing, producing and directing films in Africa, United Kingdom, and Australia. In the last decade I co-curated content at the Ration Shed Museum in Cherbourg Aboriginal Community in Queensland (https://rationshed.com.au/)
I now write full-time. Dronikus, my first novel, was published by AndAlso Books (Brisbane) in November 2023, was been short-listed for the Aurealis Awards in the category: Best Science Fiction Novel.
Dronikus will initially be the core feature of my Substack newsletter.
I am currently mid-way through my second novel, provisionally titled: Memory Harvest.
